What to wear guide for your upcoming session!

I get asked daily…………….What should we wear? So when I came across this post on my friends site I knew I needed to post this! Thanks for sharing Beth!!!

What you wear to your session is an important part of creating great images. When you are making your clothing choices, it’s best to choose simple, brightly colored clothing. (Patterns are good too, just remember to keep them minimal for group sessions.) Try to stay away from too much white or too much black, and please no large logos or character type clothing. Anything with texture photographs really well. (i.e. Denim, ruffles, embroidery, buttons, corduroy & chunky knits) Consider layering your clothing, this adds visual interest and also allows for easy wardrobe changes.

Another point I wanted to mention is notice that I don’t have the siblings all matchy-matchy. While it’s OK to have some things match, it really looks better if they aren’t wearing the exact same thing. Choosing coordinating items rather than the exact same thing allows for more visual interest and helps to express the child’s individuality.

Being a visual person myself, I wanted to show you a few examples of things that work really well.Hope this helps you plan better for our session. Looking forward to a wonderful fall season!

It took me a little while to figure out who it was and then it clearly dawned on me that it was my sweet friend Niki……….and yes she is impatient. =) and yes she does usually order the same day she views her session. I need to hire her to do my ordering sessions!! I just adore her and her family!! They are so much fun to hang out with…………the session was a BLAST! They picked me up on their boat and we went out to their cabin to do these pictures. I still can’t believe the beauty they are surrounded by! What a treasure to have family pictures done at such a special place. I had so much fun playing with the boys………they remind me of when my boys were 3 & 5. They are just adorable!! I felt so spoiled…….on the way back we boated to Eddie’s and they treated me to a LOVELY dinner………..it was so YUMMY!! My mouth is still watering just thinking about it! Our 2009 Holiday Mini-Sessions were booked in two days! Wow!! We are so grateful for the support we have in this community!! Thank you!! I have been so nervous to establish the high school senior division to my photography business. I was so worried that I wouldn’t know what to do with “them”. I mean, I really shouldn’t call them “precious”. Wouldn’t that be embarrassing for a senior? Or how would I ever be able to get through a session and not tickle my subject or do something silly!? Well, I did it! I made it through several senior’s this year and they all seem to have a blast! I hope I created a wonderful experience………..something they would remember for many years! Here are a few pictures from a recent senior session I did with Chelsea. She was so beautiful and easy to photograph……..what a natural she was in front of the camera!! She also had an AWESOME personality. Have a FABULOUS senior year, Chelsea! Make sure your dad has his kleenex by when he looks through your gallery! =)

I had the privilege of hanging out with Austin and Kellie for couple hours a few weeks ago. I was doing Austin’s senior pictures and he brought Kellie along to help out! She was a GREAT assistant!! It’s was so fun to watch them interact with each other! It truly feels like I was a senior in high school yesterday. How does 15 years sneak by so fast? I sure wish senior pictures were like this when I graduated from high school. (I had to stand next to a HUGE wooden “class of 95″ sign and hold my letterman’s jacket on my shoulder!)hahaha. It’s was so fun to listen to them chat about their senior year and the plans they have for the future! I have no doubt that Austin & Kellie will succeed in everything they do. It was so AMAZING to hear about the love they have for God and what they were doing and going to do to serve him at such a young age. I even asked Austin, “what do I need to do, so that my boy’s will be just like you when they are your age!!” hahaha Maybe I should take his mom out to lunch and gather all her secrets!

Thank you Austin for letting me into your life. I had a wonderful time working with you! Best wishes to you………..have a great year!!!! (your pictures will be published later today……I know I am torturing you!!!) =)

Can you tell they are drama students?

This beautiful girl is our AMAZING babysitter!! She is graduating from high school this year and it is so very bittersweet!! I am excited to see what God has planned for her future. But so sad to see her go. Yes go! She most likely will be leaving for college at the end of next summer! {Boo hooooooooooo!!!! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!} We just love her so much and she has become apart of our family!!! She is not only beautiful on the outside……………………she is an AMAZING person on the inside!! Whitney, you are so special to us and I am so grateful that God put you in our lives!! We are blessed to know you!!! We love you!!!!
